"Cihang Group Foreign Academician Workstation" Unveiled in Shijiazhuang

On the morning of November 1st, the Cihang Group Foreign Academician Workstation was established in Shijiazhuang. This workstation will gather domestic and foreign high-end talents and technical resources to explore areas such as the in-depth development of traditional Chinese medicinal materials and biotechnology.

The expert team of this academician workstation is led by Russian Academy of Natural Sciences academician Chen Quanzhou and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Vice Chairman Boris Borisovich Leontyev. It consists of multiple experts and scholars from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Hebei Eye Hospital.

Cihang Group is a multinational corporation headquartered in Shijiazhuang. Following formal recognition by the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the foreign academician workstation will leverage the combined domestic and international resources of the company and academicians in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, biopharmaceuticals, and overall health to focus on key research and development activities.

In his speech, Wang Zhongqun, Director of the Foreign Experts Management Office of the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, stated that the Foreign Experts Workstation is an important platform for the flexible introduction of high-end talent and resources in the province. The establishment of the Foreign Experts Workstation in Cihang Group represents a new approach to international cooperation. He hopes that both parties will actively engage in major project development, high-level talent cultivation, scientific and technological cooperation, and exchange, continually enhancing their innovative capabilities and levels.

"Our workstation's concept is rooted in industry development, emphasizing practicality and concrete achievements. We aim to be practitioners and builders of high-quality development," said Academician Chen Quanzhou. From receiving the recognition documents from the Provincial Department of Science and Technology to the official establishment, he and his team have conducted extensive research throughout the province. Currently, they have jointly applied for multiple research projects with experts in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, pharmaceuticals, plants, microbiology, and others, both domestically and abroad. "As early as 2012, I had been following developments in these fields. The establishment of the Academician Workstation will provide a higher and more authoritative platform for this work. In the future, we will focus on technological innovation, leveraging the resource advantages of Hebei and foreign technological achievements."

After the ceremony, a conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Biotechnology was held, attended by experts from the China Dream Hecun Strategy Research Institute, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hebei Province, Hebei University of Science and Technology, and the Hebei Health and Health Management Society.

Officials present at the event included Yang Lijun, Second-level Researcher of the Foreign Experts Management Department of the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Ke Xu, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Shijiazhuang; He Zifa, Director of the Foreign Experts Management Department of the Science and Technology Bureau of Shijiazhuang; Bian Qingmin, Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang; and Dr. Chen Liang, a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Alberta in Canada.
