Supporting Rural Revitalization by Establishing a Comprehensive Platform
The Quanzhou Cultural Square Is Officially Completed
Cihang News (Reporters Wei Shengzu and Li Yizhen) - On March 19th, the Quanzhou Cultural Square, donated and constructed by the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation, was officially inaugurated in Shuiniu Chen Village, Taikang County, Henan Province.
On the morning of the 18th, the ancient village of Shuiniu Chen on the south bank of the Wo River was bustling. Villagers gathered at the newly inaugurated Quanzhou Cultural Square to witness its completion. The Quanzhou Cultural Square is located on the east side of Shuiniu Chen Village, covering eight acres. It is equipped with a stage, audio equipment, fitness facilities, a library, meeting rooms, a party member activity room, a policy dissemination wall, and a human resources station, making it a high-level rural public cultural facility. This square was constructed with a generous donation of 100,000 RMB by the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation. In gratitude, the square was named after Mr. Chen Quanzhou, Chairman of the Cishi Charity Foundation. The ceremony was hosted by the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation and the Shuiniu Chen Village Committee of Taikang County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province. During the inauguration ceremony, Ms. Wang Yanli, Vice Chairman of the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation, presented a donation of 60,000 RMB in cash to the representatives of Shuiniu Chen Village, Secretary Chen Linghang, and Director Chen Lingxue, sparking a round of applause. Following this, Mr. Chen Quanzhou, Chairman of the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation, and Ms. Xi Danhua, the Party Committee Secretary of Ma Chang Town, Taikang County, Henan Province, joined together to cut the ribbon for the Quanzhou Cultural Square's official opening. This day became a festival for the villagers. They performed Henan Yu Opera and folk suona music with a strong Central Plains flavor, creating a lively atmosphere. "Since the establishment of Shuiniu Chen from the early Ming Dynasty, over 600 years have passed. For the first time, we have such a high-level cultural square. It's not only for exercise and entertainment, but also a place for grand events. Just thinking about it makes people happy!" said Chen Linghang, the 68-year-old village committee secretary. "In my dreams, I can still see Taikang, and Shuiniu Chen is where my heart belongs." As a child of the Taikang region, Mr. Chen Quanzhou ventured away to achieve success. He is currently the Chairman of the International Alliance for Big Health Industry, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the Dean of International Education at Western Trinity University in Canada, and the Chairman of the Hebei Cishi Charity Foundation. However, he has always held his hometown dear, constantly contributing to its development. Over the years, he has donated over a million RMB to his hometown, Taikang. "A strong country must first have strong agriculture; only when agriculture is strong can the nation be strong. The just-concluded 2023 National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference outlined a grand vision for moving towards becoming a modern socialist great power, and it presented more specific strategies for rural revitalization. Rural revitalization is not just about economic development; it also includes the spiritual awakening of people and the improvement of their cultural and scientific knowledge. I hope that after the completion of the square, it can become an educational platform, a cultural platform, an artistic platform, and a platform for emotional exchange, supporting the development of Shuiniu Chen Village and uplifting the spiritual and cultural lives of our fellow villagers," said Mr. Chen Quanzhou.
