"One Belt One Road Intellectual Property Alliance" established in Xi'an



The 2018 Intellectual Property · Silk Road Forum, "Belt and Road High-Tech Intellectual Property and Legal Issues on Cultural Diversity International Seminar," and the Second "Innovation and Rule of Law" Forum of the China Science and Technology Law Society, were held in Xi'an.



Hosted by the China Science and Technology Law Society, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Shaanxi Provincial Law Society, and co-organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Law Society's Science and Technology Law Research Association, as well as the Xi'an Television Drama Copyright Trading Center, the "Belt and Road High-Tech Intellectual Property and Legal Issues on Cultural Diversity International Seminar, and the Second 'Innovation and Rule of Law' Forum of the China Science and Technology Law Society" opened on October 27, 2018, at the Xi'an Jiaotong University Science and Technology Museum. The event was attended by several hundred authoritative experts and scholars from various fields, both domestic and international, including Mr. Liu Shuguang, former Deputy Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and former Director of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage; Professor Li Shunde, a researcher at the Institute of Law at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Dr. Blair, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Human Science at Trinity Western University in Canada.


During the breakout sessions, the forum included three sub-forums: "Legal Protection of Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Knowledge," "Innovation and the Rule of Law," and "Belt and Road Intellectual Property and Cultural Diversity." Experts and scholars from the theoretical and practical fields, as well as young lawyers from organizations such as the International Mountain Organization, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Knowledge Protection Research Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine, the University of Peshawar, Pakistan, National Tsing Hua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South China University of Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Cambodia's New Alliance Communication Media Company, Beijing Huajinjinglian Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd., Beijing Medical Nuochain Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and the Xi'an Jiaotong University Intellectual Property Research Center, gave thematic presentations. In this rare platform for exchange and dialogue, experts, scholars, and young talents engaged in sincere and practical discussions from various perspectives, offering a close-up opportunity for mutual contact and opening new horizons for future academic research and legal practice.


The seminar received more than 90 conference papers, many of which were outstanding, featuring novel arguments, rigorous demonstrations, and rich innovation and practical significance. In the thematic discussion sessions, several authors presented their papers, and six authoritative experts in the field provided insightful commentary. Through expert review, the seminar selected six first prize papers, fourteen second prize papers, and twenty-six third prize papers.


The "Intellectual Property · Silk Road Forum" is a high-level, international intellectual property brand event organized by the Xi'an Jiaotong University Intellectual Property Research Team.
